The purpose of this role is to provide operational support and expertise for oral solid dose development, from post-first in human studies through to commercialisation.

The role will involve:

  • Complete formulation development for oral solid dosage forms, and aspects of physical testing associated with these activities would be desirable.
  • Conduct Design of Experiment work in line with formulation optimisation would be preferred.
  • Operate small scale equipment, to follow instructions closely and record observations will be expected.
  • Support physical characterisation of prepared formulation
  • Support scheduling and planning experimental work
  • Support data analysis of data generated (e.g. to compare formulations and look for trends in performance).

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Chemical engineering, Drug design and development, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field, ideally with aspects of pharmaceutical development).
  • A fundamental understanding of how to develop and manufacture a range of standard oral solid dosage formulations.
  • Foundational practical and relevant analytical skills are required.
  • Structured approach to investigating problems to resolution.
  • Ability to organise, Schedule and Plan work with efficiency and compliance.
  • Proven ability to comply with safety and compliance needs and work flexibly.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues driving collaboration.
  • Experience of delivering process improvement would be desirable.
