Food Manufacturing - Counterbalance forklift driver & warehouse assistant

  • Outskirts of South Woodham Ferrers, Essex
  • Hours: 14.00pm - 22.00pm, Monday to Fridays
    (Saturdays Overtime is often available too for those that want more work)
  • Must have own transport for this position and be available immediately to start work
  • Pay £11.50 per hour / Weekly Pay for you
  • Position is Temp to PERMANENT

We are recruiting for an established manufacturing and wholesale food distributor, here you can become part of a well-run team and learn a production process which can be seen from start to end distribution within a Factory & Warehousing environment.

Duties:

  • Must be comfortable working with all types of meats: Lamb Mince / Chicken - Frozen products.
  • Lifting and moving boxed up & prepared raw meats.
  • Order picking and preparation / Prepare all orders.
  • Walk through and potentially working in both warm and cold stores and areas of the Warehousing and Production process.
  • Working alone under the supervision and guidance of management directly - training will be provided and full induction given.
  • Monitoring fresh/frozen stock of all the meat products.
  • Operate both counterbalance forklift and PPT on site.
  • Stock rotation - training provided accordingly.
  • Load and unload stock from UK sized pallets within storage areas and inside cold containers.
  • Manually load & unload products by hand.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties as directed by your Line Manager.

Person Specification:

  • Experience of working within a Warehouse and/or Cold Store - food processing environment would be desirable.
  • Valid & in date Counterbalance Forklift Certificate.
  • PPT operating experience.
  • Be familiar with basic Health & Safety and Food Safety storage knowledge.
  • Standard speaking of English and good communication skills.
  • Good eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Read manifest sheets and orders.
  • Follow orders correctly and double check information before proceeding on any actions.
  • Good awareness of working areas and following health and safety guidelines.
  • Must be comfortable handling lamb, beef, and chicken.
  • Heavy lifting can be involved - candidates who apply must be fit and able to load and unload heavy goods.
  • Own Transport.

PPE, Overalls, Safety boots, and Hi-vis to be worn at all times on site. This will be provided for you. This role is a temporary ongoing position but can develop into a permanent role depending on performance and attendance levels.
