Do you have an in-depth knowledge of the sports landscape in London and the capital as a whole?
Do you believe that football can be used to break barriers and bring communities together?
Our Football Foundation charity has a great opportunity for a Region Lead who is ready to embark on their exciting journey.

About the Client
In late 2023, our Football Foundation client published its new 5-year game plan with the goal of providing high quality, football provision for 20,000 young people every week.

A fundamental part of this game plan lies in Football Communities. Our Football Communities are full-scale community projects that place local roots at the heart of our approach. Communities are a hyper-localised approach to football provision - they remove locations as a barrier to accessing the benefits of regular football sessions. Our Communities are a community-led, place-based solution for high-quality, inclusive football, encouraging young people to get on the pitch and be more active. Each community will have a wide-range of provision including regular extra-curricular football sessions for young people aged 3-16, school provision, open sessions and a holiday camp.

About the role
As a Region Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management, direction and growth of their region, with each region having 1-4 localised 'Communities’ by 2028. This role will be off-pitch and there will be no requirement to coach.

Key Duties:

  • Effectively manage all football provision in a region of London, scheduling and leading a team of full-time coaches.
  • Clearly communicate and liaise with key stakeholders such as parents, schools, facilities and organisations.
  • Ensure that the quality of delivery always reaches the standards of the charity.
  • Increase the number of young people that the region provides for as we work towards the strategy.
  • Analytical and strategic nous which will inform the growth of the region.
  • A budget holder. Lead on a 5-figure budget and make financial decisions.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects at a time and show high levels of organisation and time-management.
  • Ability to manage and keep track of a budget and making key financial decisions.
  • Ability to show leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to uphold the high standards at the charity

Essential Skills:

  • Capability to think fast and make critical decisions at a fast-growing organisation.
  • Ability to take initiative to problem-solve.
  • Can operate in a team-environment and efficiently work with the other Region Leads and Regions Manager.
  • High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of the organisation, with a passion for having a positive impact and changing the lives of young people in Central London.

Desirable Skills:

  • An in-depth knowledge of the sports landscape in London and the capital as a whole.
  • Based in and around London.
