Food Product Assistant Job in Christchurch

Dovetail Recruitment are pleased to be working with a thriving client based in Christchurch who are recruiting for a new Product Assistant to join the team within their food division! As a member of the food team, you’ll be in the thick of food product launches for some of the UK’s largest grocers. A vital member of the team throughout the whole product development process for exciting new products we see on our store shelves nationwide. Your creative ideas will be essential to the process and opportunities to pitch your thoughts on new snacking products are encouraged.

For this role, we’re looking for someone with a true passion for food, a degree in a food or nutrition-related subject, or experience within the food industry.

What you’ll be doing as Food Product Assistant:

• Creating mood boards and doing market research on similar food and snack-based products in the sector
• Sample management - being in control of all samples received, keeping detailed records of things sent in/out of the business.
• Administration tasks, including data collection, arranging pack copy forms, maintenance of data records, and barcode allocations.
• Helping to create slides to add to customer strategy meeting decks.
• Competitor analysis, visiting top 6 supermarkets monthly, collecting info on RRPs, specs and designs and supporting comp shop trips.
• Sample purchasing, ensuring that anything needed for meetings or to be sent to FE for benchmarking is bought ahead of time.

Minimum Requirements for the Food Product Assistant:

• Experience within the food or nutrition industry or a degree in a related subject
• Passionate about food, nutrition or healthy living
• Creative mindset
• Eye for detail and highly organised

Salary & Details:

• £25,000 per annum with salary reviews
• Yearly bonus structure (based on company targets)
• 25 days holiday per annum, increasing to 27 days after 3 years’ service and 30 days after 5 years’ service
