Job Role: Flexographic Printer

Location: Corby, Northants

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 12 hours (with 1-hour unpaid break) rotating 4 days and 4 nights.

Salary: Dependent on Experience

About the business:

Would you like to work as a Flexographic Printer for a family business that has been producing an extensive range of polyethene based packaging for over 27 years establishing a solid reputation as one of the leading producers in the UK.

Purpose of a Flexographic Printer:

Operate Printing Press to produce quality products in the most efficient and safe manner.

Main responsibilities of a Flexographic Printer:

  • Monitor and control print quality including ink viscosities.
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are adhered to (e.g. PPE, health and safety, hygiene, quality)
  • Complete all related paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Ensure press speeds are always optimised.
  • Remove anilox rolls and maintain cleanliness.
  • Shift to shift communication and handover.
  • Follow and meets production schedules for customer orders.
  • Follow SOPs always ensuring that defective quality material does not reach the customer.
  • Working with and contributing to Continuous improvement activity across site.
  • Provide holiday cover in line with production agreement, and provide sickness cover where possible.

Context of the role of a Flexographic Printer:

Working in a factory environment operating machines.

  • Comply with company policy and rules.
  • To carry out all reasonable requests.
  • Follow procedures and assist in improving these where ever possible.
  • Attend any training provided to you whether individually or collectively.
  • Perform duties in safe and responsible manner.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed for a Flexographic Printer:

  • Good attendance and timekeeping
    • Good level of English Entry Level 3 or above
    • Knowledge of flexographic printing process
    • Ability to problem solve
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Good organisational and self-motivational skills
    • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
