Flexible Part Time English Teacher

  • Frome

  • Part time, 3 days per week

  • March to October

  • 4 lessons per day, 5th period free for planning

About the role

I am on the hunt for an English teacher or a cover teacher with a specialism in English, to work part time in a lovely secondary school in Frome. The role is a part time role, 3 days a week, however the school is very flexible and you can discuss what works best for you and the school. You will teach 4 lessons per day and on the 5th lesson (final lesson of the day) you will have to plan and mark work. This is perfect for a teacher who wants to slightly step back from full time teaching but wants to keep their hand in education.

  • Planning and marking

  • An excellent knowledge of the curriculum

  • Working proactively with other members of the department

  • Teaching key stage 3

What the client is looking for

The headteacher is looking for a kind, approachable individual, who can show excellent organisational skills, be assertive, and must have a QTS or have extensive UK school experience. The school I am looking for really prioritises someone who can engage their students in their learning but also push them to be the best they can be in and out of the classroom.
