Fire Safety Officer

  • Location: Bury
  • Job Type: Full-time, temporary contact initially for 3-months with potential for extension
  • Hourly Rate: £19.00-£19.81, PAYE

Reed Secure are working in collaboration with a local council, they have a fantastic opportunity for a Fire Safety Officer to Join the Facilities Management Team and contribute to the safety and well-being of the community. They are looking for a Fire Safety Officer to oversee fire safety management strategies and ensure compliance across various council buildings, including markets, leisure centres, and residential accommodations.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Develop and implement fire safety management strategies for all council buildings.
  • Proactively manage and oversee fire safety measures to ensure a safe environment.
  • Conduct and update Fire Risk Assessments for all council properties.
  • Deliver fire safety training to Designated Responsible Persons.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant fire safety legislation, regulations, and Codes of Practice.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in fire safety and risk management, e.g., NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety & Risk Management or equivalent.
  • An approved qualification from the Institute of Fire Engineers in Advanced Fire Risk Assessment.
  • Experience in maintaining quality information systems and investigating incidents, including fires.
  • Expertise in advising on fire safety precautions and fire risk control measures.
