Fire Risk Assessor - Major Nuclear Decommissioning Site

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough fire risk assessments on a major nuclear decommissioning site in the UK.
  • Prepare and complete all assessment documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Write comprehensive reports based on your findings.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant British Standards, nuclear safety regulations, and fire safety legislation.
  • Collaborate with the internal Fire Risk Assessment team to share knowledge and drive business development.
  • Respond to customer technical inquiries related to fire risk assessments.
  • Attend client meetings when necessary.
  • Work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Travel may be required for specific projects.
  • Continuously update your knowledge and skills through professional development (CPD).
  • Stay current on fire alarm, emergency lighting, and signage design specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification (FPA/IFE/FIA or equivalent).
  • Health and Safety certification (IOSH/NEBOSH).
  • Relevant fire/safety training (FIA/FPA etc.).
  • Industry knowledge of fire alarm, emergency lighting, and signage design/specifications.
  • Working towards a minimum level 3 fire safety qualification and membership in a relevant professional institution.
  • Experience working in a nuclear environment (preferred).
  • Understanding of nuclear safety regulations and radiation protection protocols (preferred).
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
