Position: Fire Door Inspector

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough fire door inspections according to established cycles, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Record inspection findings and arrange necessary repairs to guarantee compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to implement control systems for surveys, inspections, and maintenance of fire doors.
• Provide technical advice and exceptional customer service throughout the inspection process.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, recommendations, and remedial actions, ensuring a robust audit trail.
• Identify opportunities for service improvements and make recommendations for implementation.
• Keep abreast of current legislation, best practices, and technical developments in the construction industry.

Requirements:

• Fire Door Inspection training or relevant experience (willingness to work toward a qualification).
• Experience working in a health and safety/inspection environment, preferably within a local authority or similar organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Flexibility to adapt within a dynamic work environment and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Political sensitivity and ability to engage effectively with elected members.
• Proficiency in using ICT tools for data analysis and presentation.
