Our Fine Art transportation specialist clients are currently looking for a Fine Art Air & Sea Assistant Manager, for their team in London.

As Fine Art Air & Sea Assistant Manager, on a day to day basis you'll be responding to customer enquiries, issuing sales quotations for transport, packing/crating, documentation and overseas charges, overseeing international transport movements, processing invoices, liaising with crew, galleries and overseas agents, as well as keeping customers updated to ensure maximum client satisfaction.

Fine Art Air & Sea Assistant Manager Responsibilities include:

  • Providing import and export estimates for international air and sea shipments, to include every aspect from UK transport, packing and crating, documentation, multi modal international transport and overseas charges.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the company's international transport movements, including all modes of shipping.
  • Liaising with transport and customs brokers to ensure correct customs clearance procedures for all import and export shipments as well as providing instructions to same brokers for customs clearance diversions.
  • Accurately maintaining control sheets.
  • Liaising with clients including galleries and overseas agents to ensure delivery of all required services to an excellent standard at all times.
  • Raising and managing workflow, invoicing and service purchasing, making sure charges are correct for services bought and that the costs are accounted for.
  • Ensuring that all relevant paperwork and electronic data is processed correctly and stored with the appropriate shipping files.
  • Maintaining excellent client relationships by keeping customers updated and informed at all times.
  • Communicating movements to colleagues in order that workflows can be planned properly and operations run effectively.

We are keen to speak to people who are competent in discussing UK customs procedures, airline and ocean shipping charges, fine art packing and crating techniques, and air and sea shipping procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with fine art shipping, as well as air and sea transport.

The successful Fine Art Air & Sea Assistant Manager will have a strong awareness of import and export fine art customs procedures and UK VAT rules in relation to international shipping, as well as first class customer service skills. 

In return the Fine Art Air & Sea Assistant Manager will be offered a salary, in line with previous experience.
