We are working with an esteemed law firm who are currently seeking an Associate to join their Financial Services team based in London.

They are dedicated to handling business and personal finance transactions, secured and unsecured lending, investments, and commercial finance issues.

This role offers the right candidate the chance to forge an exciting career with the guidance and expertise of our partners across various disciplines.

About the Role

  • In this role, you will assist clients in navigating complex and sensitive regulatory challenges, requiring a comprehensive understanding of regulatory policy and processes.
  • The position encompasses both advisory and transactional/commercial regulatory work, covering both UK domestic and international matters within the financial services industry.
  • You will have the opportunity to engage in both contentious and non-contentious work, should you wish.
  • Expect to play a pivotal role in serving key clients of the firm, with potential opportunities for client secondments to enhance your skills and expertise further.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice on a range of issues across various financial service clients.
  • Advise on regulatory frameworks such as FSMA/RAO/Handbook, including emerging technologies like Digital Assets/Crypto Assets.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in Financial Services Regulation, collaborating with colleagues to share knowledge.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-referral of work and actively engage in business development.
  • Provide advice and support on M&A/Private Equity transactions, coordinating with fee earners from other relevant disciplines as required.

About You:

  • Possess at least 5 years of experience in financial services regulation post qualification.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial services.
  • Hold a Diploma in Financial Studies or express willingness to pursue studies while in the role (support provided).
  • Exceptional technical ability and drafting skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and proactive, organized nature with acute attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable interest in financial services regulation and eagerness to build a successful practice in this area.
