The Role: I am recruiting a Financial Planning Assistant / Financial Services Administrator on behalf of Smart Financial Ltd., a highly regarded, well-established and ambitious Lifestyle Financial Planning firm based in Manchester (Ancoats M4). Working in a small, friendly and collaborative team, the successful Financial Planning Assistant will support the Client Managers (Financial Planners) in providing a trusted and personal financial planning service, delivering a high standard of care to a wide range of clients.

The Person: The successful Financial Planning Assistant / Financial Services Administrator will be highly self-motivated and will be keen to learn and progress within an ambitious and progressive financial planning business. They will have exceptional customer service and administration skills. Demonstrating high levels of attention to detail they will find processing, prioritising, allocating and completing tasks comes as second nature and they will be confident in embracing the technology involved in on-line task management and scheduling.

Experience: They Financial Planning Assistant / Financial Services Administrator will have experience of highly involved administration gained in a relevant financial services environment (e.g. financial planning, financial advice, pensions, investments, protection, tax planning etc.) and will be keen to develop their technical knowledge and take a bigger role in the overall client relationship and advice-giving process.

Salary and Benefits: £27,000 - £35,000 (dependant on experience) + benefits including 22 days holiday + bank holidays + pension + flexible working hours + hybrid working + training + Continued Professional Development and opportunities for progression.

Financial Planning Assistant / Financial Services Administrator, responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Financial Planners, supporting them with delivering the highest level of customer experience.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Collate all necessary information in advance of client review meetings, prepare annual review packs and update Client Managers of progress.
  • Review and update client and compliance documents such as fact finds, attitude to risk profiles and client agreements.
  • Liaise with policy providers, submitting information arising from meetings and chasing as required.
  • Update and store all files and client documents in shared files and client services email as appropriate, fully utilising office technology (SharePoint, Microsoft 365 etc.)
  • Complete portfolio valuations, conduct research and write reports (via templates), producing regulatory documentation as necessary.
  • General financial planning administration and client liaison as required.

Financial Planning Assistant / Financial Services Administrator, skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience in a relevant financial services environment.
  • Keen to learn the complexities of financial planning, to develop their technical knowledge and take a bigger role in the overall client relationship and advice-giving process.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, commercially astute, with a proven record of taking responsibility and self-motivation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, administrative and organisational skills, where processing, prioritising, allocating and completing tasks comes as second nature.
  • Intelligent with high levels of numeracy and IT literacy, adaptable to change and confident in embracing the technology involved in on-line task management and scheduling.
  • A strong relationship builder with a confident, caring and considerate approach.
  • A proactive, team player with a "can do" attitude who is happy to work independently when required and keen to participate fully in the successful operation of the business.
