Adele Carr Recruitment is exclusively partnering a successful, national dealership who are looking to appoint a Financial Reporting Accountant on a full time, permanent basis.

This is a pivotal role with the Group who are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with a proven background in the motor trade.

Knowledge of this sector would be desirable (although not essential) as technical skills and culture fit are the main drivers for this appointment. Experience of producing management accounts in a fast-paced environment with strong stakeholder management and financial analysis skills are key.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you will receive regular support and encouragement, once settled in, you will work with a level of autonomy that will allow you to 'own the role' providing much needed financial support and direction to the several regional, dealership sites across the UK.

The successful new appointment will take control of the day to day, you will be a commercial individual who is keen to progress their career and add value.

This is a challenging, varied role that will require you to seek areas to improve, you will take a lead on projects, ensuring robust controls and processes are in place. Strong reporting skills and experience of VBA, SQL would be desirable.

The Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Improving controls to maximise returns and cash flow.
  • Producing monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Being the 'go-to-person' in accounts liaising with various budget holders across the group.
  • Production of weekly and monthly group reporting, identifying trends, highlighting for focus.
  • Providing support to the various General Managers and dealership accountants
  • Co-ordinate the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
  • Manage quarterly VAT reporting and submissions.
  • Assist with annual budgeting preparation.
  • Manage budgets including forecasting, monitoring actual performance and re-forecasting.
  • Analyse business performance KPI's and create real time flash reports on business efficiency to share with budget holders, identifying any areas for improvement or focus.
  • Project management, lead/ identify areas for improvements, reduce manual input, streamline, improve processes and procedures, automation.
  • Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders.

The ideal applicant, will be:

  • Seeking to work in Liverpool on a permanent, full-time basis.
  • Be a full qualified accountant with a proven background (finalists will be considered).
  • Familiar to working in motor trade / dealership sector.
  • A self-motivated, commercial individual who enjoys financial reporting and analysis.
  • Capable of working well under pressure, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Possess strong communication, analytic and organisational skills.
  • Stakeholder management, the ability to work with individuals across the business.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, (SQL, VBA), Kerridge, Pinnacle would be advantageous.
