Resourcery Group is proud to partner with a reputable and established not-for-profit organisation based in Preston, Lancashire. Our client is seeking a Financial Controls Lead to join their finance team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounts, the Financial Controls Lead will contribute to the strategy and objectives of the Group Financial Accounts team. This high-profile opportunity will involve driving significant changes to the financial controls environment and playing an integral role in the financial strategy for the Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive delivery within the Finance Function.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting while overseeing key controls and risks.
  • Report to the Head of Financial Accounts, providing support in identifying and addressing gaps in accounting policies and controls, developing new ones, and ensuring their implementation.
  • Review balance sheet accounts and reconciliations, resolving issues with senior finance colleagues.
  • Take ownership of balance sheet account reconciliation within Group Finance and oversee the preparation of financial statements.
  • Improve processes and controls, including process automation, best practises, and cost reduction identification.
  • Contribute to financial reporting and analysis.

Profile:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or similar).
  • Excellent technical accounting skills.
  • Significant experience in financial accounting and reporting, with a strong focus on balance sheets and the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation.
  • Exposure to and experience with process improvements.
