I am currently recruiting a Financial Controller for a not for profit organisation based in Cambridge. The role is required to provide maternity cover and is being recruited as an 18 month fixed term contract.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with the CFO, this role is responsible for managing the finances of the charity and its subsidiaries. You will be responsible for managing a team of 4 staff and you will have oversight of; financial planning, budgeting and analysis, management accounting, statutory accounts, including the annual audit, tax compliance and payroll.

Duties include;
* Manage the monthly accounting cycle for group entities. including month end procedures
* Production of monthly management accounts, cashflow reporting any adhoc reporting required by the board/leadership team
* Work closely with the fundraising team to oversee income, including financial reporting and compliance on contract and grant income
* Prepare and review all year end information for the auditors
* Prepare the statutory accounts in the UK and Ireland
* Ensure compliance with Charities SORP (FRS 102) and other relevant regulations

Ideally, the successful candidate will have prior experience of working for a charity, with knowledge and experience of UK charity accounting requirements. In addition, you will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 

Interested candidates will be qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, coupled with experience within a similar role.
