Are you a dedicated FP&A Manager with a proven track record of success? We're on the lookout for a skilled Financial Controller to join our clients team in West Birmingham. Offering a competitive base salary of up to £65,000, along with a bonus and comprehensive benefits package, this role promises great rewards and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities for this Financial Controller role:

  • Financial Reporting: Take ownership of the financial reporting process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

  • Month End and Year End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, overseeing the reconciliation of accounts, accruals, and adjustments. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, and liaise with auditors as necessary.

  • Process Improvements: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes, systems, and controls. Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to streamline workflows, increase productivity, and reduce costs.

  • Team Management: Manage and mentor the transactional finance team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork and innovation.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor financial performance and support strategic planning initiatives.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies. Implement effective risk management strategies and internal controls to safeguard company

Key Requirements

For this Financial Controller role:

  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field. Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.

  • Extensive experience in financial control roles, with a strong background in financial reporting, month-end/year-end processes, and management accounting.

  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering tangible results.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.

  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is desirable.
