About the role

This Financial Controller role will be the number one finance person in the business and after joining will then be in the prime position to become the Head of Finance with the necessary performance and development. The Financial Controller reports into the CEO and COO and will lead a growing team, a key deliverable will be to get the best out of that team, coaching, mentoring and developing those individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Ownership of all matters relating to financial performance, communication of this to board and senior management
• Maintaining a robust financial control and compliant environment
• Leading the budgeting, forecast and planning processes.
• Managing and developing the finance team to be 'best in class'
• Providing timely and accurate financial reporting and performance analysis to all stakeholders
• Ensuring the processing of all financial transactions is highly efficient and accurate
• Cashflow management
• Ownership of audit process and relationship
• Maintaining and managing excellent banking relationship
• Actively promote best practice and encourage profitable growth
• Drive cost reduction projects across the whole business

Financial Controller Person profile

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent with post qualified experience
• Previous management experience in a fast paced environment
• Retail, Consumer, Wholesale experience strongly preferred
• Strong and ambitious character with ability to influence change
• Excellent communication skills across all levels and contexts, as well as with non-finance stakeholders
• A proactive "can-do" approach
• The ability to constructively challenge accepted methods within the business
• Experience in analysing large amounts of data and making recommendations
