Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join our passionate and driven team.

This is a new post which will report to the Head of Finance for the OCS UK business. The post will initially be heavily involved in the organisations dynamics integration project before transitioning to the BAU responsibilities at 9 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dynamics Project responsibilities.

  • Perform the role of one of the Finance SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) on the dynamics project. This project is made up of 3 phases, 1 Core functionality release, 2 Necessary additional functionality and 3 Enhanced functionality.

  • Partner with the finance users across the business understanding requirements and help solution work around processes in any areas of functional degradation during phase 1.
  • Be the consistent finance expert across all of the dynamics implementation sessions.
  • Support other finance SMEs who are on the project alongside their existing responsibilities managing their involvement in the project.
  • Review and approve key functional design documentation.
  • Perform user acceptance testing, leading other finance SME’s testing their respective processes.
  • Support with data cleanse and validation exercise.
  • Assist in mapping to-be processes.
  • Support with change management, preparing users for system and process changes.
  • Become a finance system expert and provide training to finance users that are transitioning into the new system. This will give you skills to transition into the BAU role.

BAU Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and hold responsibility for the Corporate finance: Balance sheet, Control & Compliance; Financial Accounting, Treasury and Ledger functions.
  • Ensuring success of the function including recruitment, succession planning and training alongside the development and motivation of team members.
  • Cash management – reviewing daily cash forecast in the UK Group and responsibility for short and long term cash forecasting. Flagging cash requirements and optimising the use of UK cash.
  • Oversee and review quarterly Group VAT and CIS returns.
  • Responsibility for centralised finance shared services function– AP, AR and credit control Managers in place.
  • Oversight and review of year-end consolidation and statutory accounts for UK and subsidiary companies under IFRS supported by the financial accountant.
  • Responsibility for UK elements of year-end audit
  • Provision of reports to senior management as required.
  • Key contact with Group Function on financial reporting and cash matters
  • Driving improvements in Group processes and controls. Driving integration of legacy OCS and Atalian Servest functions.
  • Support integration and accounting work streams for future external acquisitions.

About You:

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • ACA/ACCA qualified – ideally from a Practice background
  • Experience with reporting under IFRS
  • Experience of managing a finance team – previous Financial Controller experience desirable.
  • Highly competent on Excel
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and manage own workload and workload of the team.
  • Confident communicator, with the ability to articulate financial information and analysis to stakeholders.
  • Independent thinker, keen problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Experience using finance systems – use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Magnitude desirable
  • Start date – ASAP
