Financial Accountant

Robert Half Cambridge are delighted to be partnering with a company in Cambridge who are seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This role will assit with meeting the financial and regulatory reporting obligations and to help drive process improvements within the finance team.

This role is paying a salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience. The role will be based in the Cambridge office 1 day a week with the rest being predominately home working.

The Role:

• To take ownership of the preparation of annual statutory accounts including liaising with external auditors and tax experts
• To ensure policies and procedures remain up to date with current accounting standards and to perform horizon scanning for future developments.
• To assist the Financial Controller with monthly financial reporting, including preparation of Committee packs
• To support the Financial Controller with the operational delivery of obligations related to indirect and direct tax
• To take ownership of the fixed asset register
• To review all Balance Sheet reconciliations performed by the finance processing team during the month end process

Experience and Qualifications:

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Strong analytical skills to reconcile data and explain reports to leaders
• Ability to demonstrable examples of your excellent attention to detail
• Experience producing outputs for audit within a financial service organisation
• Understanding of the requirements of FRS102 and IAS39
