Harmonic are delighted to be working with one of the most reputable and well known book publishing organisations, in the search for a finance systems manager in an exciting period of growth for the business.

The Business:

Having grown since inception into one of the top 15 world publishers, our client boast extremely impressive turnover figures, doubling to £100 million over the last 3 years. with circa 300 employees spread across the globe and the UK, our client is truly one of the largest and most exciting organisations within their space. This underlines their ambitious future growth strategy, with the aim to become one of the market leading brands in their industry.

Specialising in bestselling fiction and non function across both emerging talent and iconic names, our client span a broad range of book genres, with a values led approach centring that every book matters. Their simple ethos has as a result, led to their fantastic size and reputation in the space.

The Role:

Following the recent implementation of D365, our client is looking for a strong, outward facing character to take the lead on driving multiple related projects to completion. Working closely with the senior leadership team, this role will offer great autonomy and the opportunity to have real influence in the direction of the business.

Offering a flexible remote / hybrid working set up depending on candidates location, the finance Systems Manager will be pivotal in reviewing and improving the finance processes underpinned by Dynamics365, defining how data will be stored and modelled and building widescale automation of reporting to support the Finance Team with enhanced and efficient reporting and analysis. The individual will be proficient at working with staff at all levels in the Finance Department, understanding their requirements and creating an environment where they are able to work efficiently and effectively.

Main duties:

  • Ability to test and adapt D365 processes to better suit business requirements
  • D365 Specialist with experience working with a finance team closely
  • Taking responsibility for owning & coordinating all issues to resolution and plans for improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of automated reporting tools & D365 reporting capabilities.
  • Demonstrate good problem-solving capabilities, anticipate potential problems and develop contingency plans to mitigate them.
  • Experience initiating and coordinating improvement projects with a proactive, delivery-focused mindset and can-do approach.
  • Experience managing enhancements or upgrades Experience managing and maintaining integrations into & out of D365 with strong understanding of using and maintaining D365 Data Management Framework.

What we need to see (essential):

  • Experience in stock related businesses (FMCG / Manufacturing / Retail)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrable experience with using D365


What we need to see (bonus):

  • Fully qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA)
  • Book Publishing background

Salary: £65,000 - £80,000
