Finance Officer

Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a well-established client in Newcastle who are looking for an experienced Finance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a part time opportunity of 30 hours per week to be worked across 4 or 5 days  and will involve managing the purchase ledger section efficiently, processing invoices, expenses, and credit card transactions.

Working in a close knit team, your main duties will include: 

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including staff expenses, invoices, and credit card reconciliations.
• Ensure all purchases are authorised and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Liaise with the Purchasing Department and budget holders to reconcile invoices with purchase orders and confirm goods and services receipt. 
• Provide cover for cash office duties as needed.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for internal audit queries and collation of deliverables.
• Support the recruitment and training of cash office staff.
• Collaborate with the cash office to provide necessary training and resources for new staff.
• General administrative duties including filing, photocopying etc.

You will have:

• Previous experience in an accountancy role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent IT skills.
• The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
