We are recruiting for a Finance Manager on behalf of an expanding company which is part of a Group with offices in Europe and further afield. The business is growing its product lines and is known for delivering key products into the UK construction industry.

The key function of this role will be to strengthen and enhance the quality and depth of financial reporting/analysis. Overseeing the financial management of the UK operation and working with the management team you will help steer the company and its organisation using a data-driven approach.

Reporting to the directors and Group, responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include:

  • Overseeing the finance department on a day-to-day basis
  • Reporting the accounts to European head office
  • Preparing management accounts, P&L, balance sheet analysis, cashflow forecasting and variance analysis
  • Preparation of year-end financial accounts
  • Fixed assets
  • Payroll
  • Analysing the risk feasibility of customers and the application of credit policy
  • Drawing up budgets and presenting them to the Group Management Committee
  • Monitoring credit insurance policies and insurance files
  • Credit control and transfer unpaid cases to legal
  • Set up and apply clear procedures and administration for stock management
  • Monitoring and controlling the invoicing cycle and stock control
  • VAT and CIT administration
  • Follow-up of customer financing files
  • Control accounts

  • Be an experienced accounts professional either qualified or qualified by experience
  • Minimum five years’ experience gained within the finance department of a UK SME
  • Ability to effectively manage the accounts department of a busy company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be confident managing own workload
  • Strong IT skills
