A newly-created opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a well-respected commercial company in their offices west of Reading. Leading and managing a team of 5, this role is pivotal in continuing to drive and streamline financial operations within the company. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive and a strong communicator in this varied and rewarding role. Hybrid work pattern offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Manage a team of 5 people
  • Authorizing claims and supplier payments
  • Monitoring cash flow
  • Ensuring compliance with finance-related policies
  • Evaluating development costs and capital expenditure
  • Overseeing credit control
  • Managing purchase order system for IT expenditure
  • Managing insurance funds
  • Liaising with underwriters
  • Handling FCA submissions
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA, CIMA ideal
  • Proficiency in Excel for analysis and reporting
  • Prior experience with Sage or similar accounting software desirable
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Must have managed a small finance team in a commercial SME
