Finance Manager | Clapham, South London | Property Development Co | £50-60,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Qualified Finance Manager to join this small Property Development business in Clapham.

The successful candidate will oversee the finance department of this small but dynamic business, overseeing an Accounts Assistant and reporting to the Directors. Key tasks include:

  • Monthly management accounts, income statement by division, balance sheet and cashflow, with comparison to forecast and projection to year end.
  • Statutory accounts
  • Project Cost Management - You will work closely with the Project Management Team as well as CEO and to create project budgets
  • Purchases, maintaining an up-to-date purchase ledger, with suppliers paid to terms.
  • Payroll, submitting gross pay to payroll bureau, reviewing output from payroll bureau and ensuring employees are paid in a timely manner.
  • Supervision and Management of an Accounts Assistant bookkeeper.
  • Streamlining and improving all operations and accounting systems.
  • Proactive and strategic in anticipating organisational needs.
  • CIS, checking suppliers status, making payments with the correct deduction, preparing the monthly return and making payment to HMRC.
  • VAT, setting funds aside, completing the quarterly return and submitting to HMRC.

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified ACCA or CIMA with experience of working in a small finance function looking after all areas of accounts and overseeing one person. Strong systems skills would be essential as well as the ability to communicate at board level. Experience in the property industry would be useful but not essential.
