Finance Manager

Robert Walters are delighted to announce their partnership with a global logistics company who are seeking a Finance Manager to lead their rapidly expanding and successful finance team.

This billion-pound turnover business are hoping to continue their success by hiring a dynamic Finance Manager who can oversee the finance team but also contribute by assisting in commercial decisions as well as driving the business forward.

The Role:

In reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading and coaching the finance team ensuring efficient and effective ways of working whilst supporting the team's personal development.

Your key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support the Head of Finance in ensuring strong month end controls and adherence to deadlines to support wider group reporting requirements.
• To act as the line manager of colleagues in the finance team to ensure duties are completed effectively and efficiently whilst driving accountability.
• Business partnering with wider departments within the company.
• Preparation, review and analysis of weekly and monthly management accounts including commentary.
• Analysis of factory variances and efficiencies.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Preparation and posting of month end journals.
• VAT Returns.
• Year-end audit support.
• Assist with the preparations of the annual budget/forecast.
• Supporting the understanding and investigation of variance analysis relating to actuals vs budgets and forecasts.

The Candidate:

You will:

• Be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or qualified by experience.
• Have previous management experience or experience mentoring junior members of the team.
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ideally have logistics experience.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
