Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Finance Manager to collaborate with the Head of Finance on day-to-day operations within the department.

There customers depend on a quality service which is competitively priced, and our client delivers every time to the highest standard. 

They have offices in Southwest Scotland and  the outskirts of Glasgow.

This position offers opportunities for career development as part of the long-term plans of the organisation.
 
You'll be a key part of improving the finance procedures, assisting with important financial responsibilities, and ensuring operations run smoothly.

Main areas of responsibility.

  • Coach and lead a team of finance assistants in executing daily, weekly, and monthly financial operations.
  • Support the finance team with daily banking, sales ledger, purchase ledger, and credit control.
  • Manage team performance, recognition, and wellbeing.
  • Reconcile control accounts, and process monthly journals (including accruals and prepayments)
  • Conduct weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Manage the fixed asset register.
  • Prepare management accounts, statistical analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepare VAT return and submit HMRC reports.
  • Generate financial reports for budget monitoring.
  • Assist in audit preparation and execution.
  • Develop and maintain finance department procedures.
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance..

 Skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Professional accounting qualification ( ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Experience managing and developing a team.
  • Previously worked with auditors.
  • Honest, discreet, and committed to confidentiality.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of MS Office/O365.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
