Finance Manager | Fast Growth Production and Manufacturing Group | Oxfordshire

Harmonic are proud to be working on a exclusive basis with a scaling manufacturing and production group on the hire of a Finance Manager to join the team in a newly created position. Reporting to the Finance Director this is one of the most exciting roles that Harmonic will be bringing to market this year.

This role is newly created and has come around because of sustained growth over the past few years. Our client has successfully expanded their business to over 50 stores which are a mix of pop-ups and retail stores, not only across the UK market but also internationally. Now sold across 4 different continents this brand enjoys globally recognized for its high-quality products which have been perfected over time and are enjoyed in the millions. This role will oversee the production and manufacturing site finances which form an integral part of their retail and franchise business partnerships.

With expansion plans to open up another 2 sites in just London alone this position will serve as a key hire to their continued success and future growth and have direct progression to a Head of Finance role within the business. Overall the roles is a mix of commercial, business partnering, team development and financial reporting based so would suit those looking for a broad remit.

The role:

This role will oversee the timely and insightful reporting across the group. Working alongside the Group Finance Director this role will ensure that accurate controls and reports and put in place with a focus on producing high quality management accounts and precise delivery of the annual audit and stock controls process.

  • Ownership of the P&L and cash management across the group. Reviewing the KPIs and budget cycles with analysis of the budget vs actuals
  • Lead and develop finance team, the business have ambitious growth plans and part of this will including hiring and building a bespoke team.
  • Delivery of the monthly reports and annual audited accounts
  • Analysis into key metrics around cash management, stock and margins as well as maintenance of the controls around these
  • Preparation of the annual budget and forecast alongside the Group Finance Director
  • Cash flow forecasts
  • Working alongside the operations teams and site managers to review data and sit down with non-finance stakeholder to talk through budgets and planning
  • As new retails sites open globally, start to plan for the future and build out a function which will support ambitious growth plans
  • Drive systems changes and implementations to improve efficiency
  • Support with IT development projects including a new stock controls process which is in the pipeline / selection of ERP for this and involvement in the selection of this system.
  • Management of an Accounts Assistant and oversight of the AP/AR function

What our client would like to see:

  • ACA / ICAS / ACCA Qualified
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Articulate spoken and written communication skills
  • Evidence of senior stakeholder management
  • Enthusiasm to be part of a scaling SME
  • Prior team management experience

What we would like to see:

  • Experience in manufacturing, food production or general production would be beneficial
  • 12-18 months experience out of practice / Audit trained, ideally in a Top 10 accountancy practice
  • Experience working in an SME / Start-up or environment where there has been change and development

Salary range: £65,000 to £70,000 + benefits
