The role of the Finance Manager is to oversee the end-to-end finance operations including financial planning and analysis along with aiming to make improvements to procedures and controls as well as ad hoc projects and requests as and when they come up. This role requires the continuous review and improvements of all accounting practices.

Financial Control

  • Accounting software management (Xero)
  • Oversee the Finance Assistant regarding: credit control, credit card management, supplier management, client support, payroll, VAT/PAYE
  • Oversee the stock take process and lead the variance analysis to ensure we have good data
  • Maintain the relationship with the company bank manager
  • Primary point of contact for HMRC and manage their processes

Management Accounting

  • Creating and tracking management accounts
  • Month end and year end processes
  • Oversight and preparation of monthly profit and loss accounts, cash flow management, balance sheet reconciliations and capital allocation management

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Continual track budget against management accounts and projects
  • Leading the analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual numbers to present findings to the leadership team (monthly) and board (quarterly)
  • Identifying risks to the delivery of the business functions
  • Monitor financial KPIs regularly

Business Growth

  • Contribute to investor proposals to demonstrate potential growth when raising external finance
  • Prepare accounts and analysis on the performance of the business at/for board meetings
  • Help with the creation of business cases as required both internally and externally to demonstrate the potential for new business generation

Subscription Management

  • Manage and track renewal dates on all key contracts
  • Understand and keep up to date on termination terms
  • Arrange renewal review with suppliers and partners prior to termination to allow the business to assess the suitability of existing systems and support the review and cost benefit analysis of new suppliers or partnerships
