Harper May is currently collaborating with a reputable property management group with a strong track record of excellence in managing commercial properties. They are currently seeking a talented Finance Director to join their team on a part-time basis (two to three days a week).

As the Finance Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the group. You will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial operations reporting to group CFO
  • Manage the finance team to meet month end reporting requirements
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Assist in accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities.
  • Monitors and analyses department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions as needed.
  • Development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Streamline the existing accounting processes.
  • Develop and deliver concise, robust, and clear reports suitable for the Board and other stakeholders, incorporating input from quantity surveyors, accounting functions, and legal support as necessary.
  • Ensure the transparent and auditable utilisation of each funding stream within the comprehensive financial plans, with the ability to explain any alterations effectively.
  • Provide contextualisation of current and planned activities within the legal framework advised by Group lawyers, facilitating prompt decision-making by the Board.

Qualifications/Skills

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified or equivalent
  • Proven experience in finance management.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
  • Auditing experience.
  • Compliance oriented.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Analytical skills.
