UBT are proud to be working with an established, family-run SME business based in Chesterfield who are now seeking an experienced and driven part time Finance Director. As Finance Director, you will play a key role in managing and improving the company's financial performance. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning. Additionally, you will provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support decision-making and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the organisation. To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset. You should also have a deep understanding of financial regulations and best practices. As Finance Director, you will work closely with other departments to coordinate and execute financial goals and objectives.

[ The role ]

  • Develop and implement effective financial strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports
  • Compile board packs and present for month end
  • Manage and optimize the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and support to senior management
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis function, including financial modelling and scenario planning
  • Collaborate with other departments to support their financial needs and objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and investors
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a previous Finance Director position
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership and management abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and analysis
  • Previous experience of supporting/advising and getting a business ready for potential future sale
