Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE
Hours: 9-5:30, Monday-Friday
Duration: Permanent

We are seeking a Financial Controller to support our Finance & Operations Director in the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the finance department. This role is integral to managing the organisation’s short-term liquid resources and providing accurate, comprehensive financial information.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Oversee the finance department, including Accounts Payable & Receivable, ensuring accurate transaction recording within the accounting system.
• Conduct general bookkeeping, including ledger entries and employee expense claims.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, reports, and KPIs.
• Complete month-end/year-end close procedures to meet reporting deadlines.
• Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts and manage short-term cash flows.
• Assist in compiling and maintaining annual budgets, reporting variances against actuals.
• Prepare and file quarterly UK VAT returns and assist with bi-monthly Irish & Dutch VAT returns.
• Liaise with external accountants for the preparation of annual accounts.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
• Reconcile balance sheet nominal accounts accurately.
• Implement and maintain accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.
• Provide detailed sales reports and profitability analysis by customer.

• Proficiency in written and oral communication, as well as numeracy.
• Part-qualified or qualified by experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting and finance experience.
