Finance Business Partner (FBP) | Long Eaton | £50,000 - £55,000 + 20% bonus + package

A leading business headquartered in Long Eaton, Nottingham, UK. The Finance Business Partner is a new role within the company, which is designed to bridge finance with operations, ensuring the company achieves its financial targets while maintaining operational excellence. The FBP will provide strategic financial insight and leadership, facilitating informed decision-making at the highest levels. Working closely with the Managing Director and reporting to the Group Chief Financial Officer, this role demands a blend of analytical ability, strategic thinking, and exceptional communication/personality skills. Additionally, you will support non-operational cost centres under the CFO's guidance.

Role Overview:
As a Finance Business Partner, you'll align finance with operations, supporting the MD to drive performance and operational efficiency. This role demands financial expertise, strategic foresight, and exceptional communication skills.   • Serve as the primary financial advisor to the MD and their team offering strategic financial insights and analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Ensure financial and operational goals are aligned, closely collaborating with the MD and CFO to guarantee operational strategies meet financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models and forecasts to aid in business planning and analysis.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for all departments, ensuring precision and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of operational performance to identify trends, recommending actions to boost profitability and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a profound understanding of inventory management, ensuring strategies are in place to optimise lead times, stock levels and turnover.
  • Foster a culture of revenue growth as well as cost consciousness, return on investment, and strong financial controls and compliance, underpinning a strategic commercial mindset throughout the organisation.
  • Drive the generation of strong data-based analysis, leading to clear actions aimed at enhancing profitability and reinforcing a culture focused on cost management.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to ensure financial strategies and reporting are cohesive and comprehensive.
  • Communicate financial results and concepts effectively across all levels of the organisation, promoting financial awareness and responsibility.
  • Run finance/cashbook/daily accounts for a small business in the group in its entirety
  • Support the MD on forecasting builds and materials for an overseas factory, along with sales analysis on trends by SKU
  • Engage in strategic projects and initiatives, providing financial expertise and analysis to support business development and growth ambitions.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with relevant experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, capable of translating complex financial information into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence stakeholders across all business levels.
  • Proficiency in adopting and implementing modern cloud-based productivity and note-taking applications, coupled with an improvement mindset geared towards leveraging AI tools for business efficiency and innovation.
  • Preference for experience with IFS and PowerBI, but not essential
  • Experience in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting is essential.
  • Knowledge of the freight forwarding and/or manufacturing sector is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of promoting a culture of cost efficiency, profitability enhancement, and strong financial controls.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities with efficiency.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
