Finance Business Partner

About the Business

Join our team within a medium sized business, where you’ll take on the role of Finance Business Partner. You’ll be involved in commercial contracts, analysing both costs and revenue. This is a truly unique opportunity that allows you to influence over a substantial asset. The role mixes management accounting and then dealing with operational staff.

Working Pattern

This role offers a hybrid working pattern, based in Coventry, with the flexibility of spending 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely from home. The business are very flexible.

Main Duties

• To ensure the accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts and quarterly and rolling forecasts, ensuring explanations are provided for variances against budget.
• To assist and provide support and guidance to Budget Holders in the monthly monitoring of income and revenue costs against budget and forecasts. In doing so highlight areas of concern / opportunity and follow up accordingly.
• Preparation of comprehensive and clear monthly and quarterly management accounts commentary suitable for inclusion and distribution to the Board.
• Work in collaboration with Budget Holders throughout the business in the preparation of Budget and forecast submissions, providing analytical review and support.
• Ensure clear communication with line manager and finance team management on opportunities and risks identified.
• Focus on increasing profitability and continuous improvement by analysing and challenging current practices and processes.
• To maintain and update various key financial models.
• To assist in the production of statutory accounts, ensuring auditors sign off accounts within company time-lines.
• Production of information for auditors, banks, shareholders and other external bodies.
• To carry out such other duties commensurate with the grading of the post which may be determined from time to time.

Location / Office / Culture

This role is situated in Coventry, surrounded by an enthusiastic team and supportive management. Thet team is 20 people big and the manager is very supportive. There is lots of progression and the company really are growing!

What We Are Looking For

• Ideally, a qualified professional or someone actively training towards a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, etc.).
• You will either be a management accounting stepping up, or a business partner.
• Alternatively, qualification through relevant experience will be considered.
• Excellent communication skills, coupled with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the business.
