My client is seeking an enthusiastic, collaborative, and versatile Finance Business Partner to join their team during a period of significant growth. Reporting to the Head of Finance and collaborating with other Finance Business Partners, you will play a crucial role in providing financial expertise and support to their key stakeholders, helping us achieve their ambitious strategy. 



This role offers an exciting opportunity within a supportive and well-established finance team, where you can further develop the finance function and shape your role. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication, analytical, and systems skills, as well as the flexibility and motivation to engage in cross-organisational projects.


Day to Day of the role:

  • Deliver high-quality financial support to internal stakeholders, which may include Food, Supply Chain & Logistics teams, Network Partner support, Operational centres, and Support functions.
  • Provide monthly management accounts and KPI reporting, monitoring spend and offering financial insights to align with strategic direction.
  • Collaborate on budget and forecast development and management.
  • Enhance financial reporting and analysis, developing KPI capabilities.
  • Coach budget holders on finance systems and processes to foster effective budget management and controls.
  • Cover for other Finance Business Partners as needed, particularly around month-end processes and reporting.
  • Produce month-end journals and conduct balance sheet reconciliations for nominated business centres.
  • Support the development and monitoring of financial policies, processes, and controls.
  • Oversee financial aspects of grants, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Provide financial guidance to the finance transactional team and potentially line manage finance offices in operational centres.
  • Lead process improvements and provide support as required.
  • Some travel to operational centres and network partners across the UK may be required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Business partnering experience, preferably in a similar size organisation and business model. Experience in the commercial Supply Chain & Logistics, FMCG or retail industry is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in managing month-end processes.
  • Strong financial accounting background.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in a range of accounting software and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and support, motivate, and challenge staff to achieve objectives.
  • Line management experience is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt and influence change.
  • Understanding of the food industry and/or logistics industry is advantageous.
