My client, a leading professional services firm, are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join their stunning offices in Chester.

My client is a highly acquisitive business, with huge growth plans over the coming years. They are currently looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner, who will effectively manage the commercial finance function. Working directly with the senior finance team, the role will take complete ownership of the budgeting /forecasting process, FP&A, modelling, and will also get involved in work around pricing and costing.

This is a brand new position, so there's a lot of scope to shape the role according to how you see fit. The role requires someone who can adapt to change easily, and think on their feet, with proven commercial acumen.

This is a hybrid working position, 1-2 days in the office is the expectation.

Key responsibilities include:

* Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to aid decision making, presenting in a clear, concise and engaging manner.
* Support delivery of the annual budget half year forecasts and 12 month rolling forecasts, including analysis to ensure assumptions are credible and proactive evaluation of risks and opportunities.
* Working with the finance team, provide monthly updates on financial performance with variance analysis to plan.
* Understand and develop operational KPIs; use this information to challenge the business to continuously improve.
* Undertake commercial analysis to aid decision making.
* Working closely with our Commercial Manager to challenge and improve pricing decisions.
* Work closely with the core finance team looking for ways to improve process and outputs.
* Working with the Group FC, lead the ownership of the Finance ERP system and proactively look at ways to improve.
* Key point of contact for production of all financial business cases, ensuring a high degree of rigour is applied to all business cases with clearly articulated financial returns.
* Ad-hoc financial support and advice to the business

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Proven commercial finance experience and ability to proactively business partner with non finance
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Hands on, adaptable, positive and hard-working
  • Experience of acquisitive commercial environment helpful
