EslingKenny is currently recruiting for a growing private equity-backed Media/Tech business based in Central London. They are seeking a Finance Business Partner due to growth within the business after making numerous acquisitions.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role is crucial in delivering key monthly reporting requirements to internal stakeholders that will enable them to successfully execute the company strategy. It will also require you to roll up your sleeves and assist with month-end processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and report monthly results, variances and trends to internal stakeholders and as part of the Board reporting
  • Prepare KPIs for monthly reporting pack
  • Complete the month-end account processing, including revenue recognition and cost reviews for our events and data business units
  • Involvement in the annual budgeting process, particularly revenue whilst supporting the budget holders throughout the process
  • Forecasting revenue and costs for your specific business units and evaluating any factors that may impact these
  • Working with senior managers on projects, including cost reductions and revenue expansion
  • Build and develop strong relationships with both finance and non-finance staff across the business
  • Assistance with the annual audit, accounting under UK GAAP / FRS 102
  • Ad-hoc analysis to support internal stakeholders
  • Working with the team to identify and rollout process improvements as well as supporting and mentoring where necessary

Person Specification

Essential Skills/Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) is desirable but not essential
  • Proven experience of developing solid relationships with key stakeholders and being able to influence decision-making
  • Be able to hit the ground running with minimal assistance
  • Management of an events lead business
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience in querying and analysing data as well as drawing conclusions on the bigger picture and how that can effect commercial decision making
  • Be a clear and confident communicator both written and verbal
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Process-driven with meticulous attention to detail and experience of designing and implementing best practice processes
  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships and work closely with senior management team
