The Finance Business Partner role will develop strong internal relationships with Finance directors and executives, developing an in depth insight over the cost base. You must be able to influence decision making which will enable budgets and long-term goals to be met, as well as driving material impacts on key business outcomes including growth, profitability and customer servicing.

Description

Key responsibilities for this Finance Business Partner (Expenses) role include:

  • Leading the expense partnering process for your divisions, having a direct impact on growth, profitability and service delivery
  • Developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Delivery of first class business partnering support for the function, and being able to turn numbers and data into compelling, insightful and influential storyboards.
  • Expense performance management and insight
  • Supporting Finance Directors to help them embed a cost conscious culture across the function and actively manage spend.
  • Supplementing the standard cost reporting produce by the central team with insightful cost base analysis
  • Managing expense performance and overseeing the risks and opportunities log for the function
  • Running the monthly cost forum, enabling a direct impact to be made in the function
  • Giving overviews of cost performance vs. budget, emerging risks and opportunities, and potential routes to achieving the budget.
  • Tracking recruitment and vacancy analysis including cost implications
  • Presenting findings for discussion and approval
  • Tracking the delivery of expense savings and benefits.
  • Long term cost planning to achieve strategic goals
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Lead the interaction and negotiation with the function to ensure budget and forecast targets are hit.
  • Lead the review and challenge of function budgets and forecasts
  • Anaplan inputs, including reference to trends, activity-based analysis and KPIs.
  • Developing comprehensive financial insight and analysis of proposed budgets
  • Ensure partners understand and are accountable for delivery of their cost target.
  • Agree the cost allocation drivers for each cost centre within your remit
  • Support reforecasting and re-prioritisation of the portfolio on an agile basis.
  • Track portfolio costs and benefits, including preparation of analysis and give early warning if projects are not delivering as expected, to enable corrective action.
  • Provide review and challenge of business cases

Profile

The successful Finance Business Partner should have:

  • A formally recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
  • Experience in a similar finance business partnering role
  • A full understanding of Expense Management and Operating Cost Management
  • An ability to partner with and influence senior leadership to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a large, global, corporation / financial services environment
  • Experience of Anaplan

Base salary of £65-75,000 +
