Job Title: Temporary Finance Assistant
Location: Luton
£15 Per Hour - 37.5 hrs a week for 6 - 8 weeks (with flexibility)

Our client is a global supplier of commodity and specialty chemical products to various industries. The company specializes in the sales, marketing, and distribution of chemical and raw material products to various sectors. Their reputation is built on professionalism, quality products, and reliable global distribution networks.
Our client is looking for a Finance Assistant to support their team for a temporary basis.
They are in search of a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our team. This role will provide vital support to our finance department in day-to-day financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bank reconciliations for currency current accounts and currency CID accounts
- Assist with stock records and reports
- Conduct credit card reconciliations
- Input approved staff expenses
- Prepare weekly payment runs for approval by Finance Manager, ensuring timely supplier payments
- Prepare data for EU VAT return processing and file UK VAT returns
- Reconcile monthly sales invoices raised versus Customer Service Sales (CSS)
- Maintain fixed asset register and process depreciation journals
- Conduct financial due diligence on new suppliers
- Review outstanding purchase orders for accrual purposes
- Manage prepayment schedules and release appropriate invoices by approved journals
- Handle accounting for product swap transactions
- Prepare accruals schedules for product costs, ancillary expenses, carriage expenses, and overheads
- Conduct reconciliations of Profit & Loss and balance sheet
- Allocate posting of product supplier invoices and other related invoices
- Prepare weekly commercial reports analyzing variances at sales and gross margin levels
- Assist in preparing variance analysis for monthly management reporting packs
- Conduct financial analysis and assist in forecasting
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support the finance team in various administrative tasks and any other duties as required
Experience Desired:
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
- Excellent communication skills for effective liaison at all levels
- Professional demeanor, both in-person and over the phone
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in database management, Excel (intermediate), Word, and Sage accounts
- Proactive in identifying areas for improvement and facilitating change
- Positive attitude towards learning new skills and knowledge
- Proficiency in Sage 50, Navision, Excel, and Word
- AAT Qualification
