The Finance Assistant will be a pivotal team member within a small Accounting & Finance department, working closely with the Financial Controller to contribute significantly to the firm's financial efficiency and accuracy.

Description

  • Raising sales invoices including recharges to customers
  • Credit control
  • Processing accounts payable & raising payments to suppliers
  • Preparing and posting journal entries, prepayments, accruals etc.
  • Managing the online banking
  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts
  • Analysing management accounts, highlighting and investigating variances to the budgets
  • Preparing draft VAT returns
  • Month end reconciliations for banks, credit cards and major balance sheet accounts
  • Running monthly payrolls for various clients
  • Producing year end payroll returns including P60s & P11(D)s
  • Any ad hoc tasks in the day to day running of the office eg dealing with incoming post, ordering office suppliers, maintaining document filing systems

Profile

A successful Finance Assistant should have:

  • A degree in finance, accounting or a related field
  • Proficiency in accounting softwares
  • Excellent computer systems knowledge
  • Proactive and interested in learning and developing new skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and always lend a helping hand
  • Excellent communication skills and have a customer centric attitude

Job Offer

  • A competitive salary in the range of £35,000 - £40,000k pro rata
  • Part time role - 3 days in the office (Tue, Wed and Thur)
