Elevation Accountancy and Finance are excited to be working with a fantastic business in the Doncaster area as they look to recruit a Finance Assistant into their team on a full time, permanent basis.

The role of the finance assistant is to support the finance team in managing and processing various accounts and transactions, under the supervision of the Finance Officer and Management Accountant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases
  • Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Finance Officer and/or Management Accountant
  • Help oversee and manage individual accounts as directed by the management accountant
  • Create, send, and follow up on invoices
  • Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets
  • Under the remit of the Finance Officer review and audit financial statements and reports and ensure all calculations and data entries are correct
  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients
  • Collect information for and prepare payroll payments for employees which will also include the processing of staff change of address forms on payroll
  • Assist the finance team in creating financial reports on a regular basis
  • Be the first point of contact for general queries and answer questions and provide assistance to employees, service leads, and managers and where required, redirect calls to the appropriate person, and the taking and passing on of messages
  • Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions

Person Specification:

  • At least 12 months work experience of working in a similar role in a medium/large complex organisation
  • Evidence of working with a wide range of finance transactions, demonstrating an ability to understand how to understand, process and question financial matters
  • Experience of working with service managers and handling simple questions regarding financial matters
