Finance Assistant Bank Allocations
Our client has a full-time vacancy for a Finance Assistant dealing with bank allocations. The role is working hybrid, office based on a Tuesday and Thursday. It is 37 hours per week with some flexibility around when these can be worked. The role is offered as a temporary ongoing position.
The main purpose of the role is the allocation of incoming credits to the main bank account.
The Role:
- To assist with operation of the cash desk to provide lunchtime and holiday cover on a Tuesday when the cash desk is in operation. This will include collecting cash and taking credit card payments in respect to settlement of invoices.
- Monitor and respond to the payments email inbox.
- To process credit card transactions in respect to settlement of invoices.
- To keep the suspense account to a minimum and liaise with other departments to understand the invoices, companies and clients these payments are to be allocated against.
- To make enquiries with both the bank and the payee on items unallocated.
- To organise inter-company transfers of receipts paid to the incorrect company.
- To assist with audit queries.
Requirements:
- Experience of working in a finance team or departments in a large complex organisation.
- Good Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Knowledge of accounting systems and structures.
- Good IT skills.
- Customer focused with a willingness to find way to achieve a desired outcome, but within the limits set by legislation and internal regulations.
