Finance Analyst

Our client is a leading financial services institution in Manchester City Centre. They are seeking to recruit an individual as a Finance Analyst into their Capital Allocation team. This team is part of the Fund Management area and is focused on ensuring the most appropriate capital allocation decisions are made on behalf of investors. The role-holder will work side-by-side with top professionals in translating strategy into numbers and then turning data into clear insights for leadership.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Analyst, you will be at the heart of our client's Capital Allocation team. Your role will involve conducting detailed analyses over a range of projects, developing models and analytical methods to effectively scrutinise performance and profitability. You will monitor the performance of funds under management, investigating trends and identifying areas that require further analysis. Your expertise will also be crucial in analysing returns, both actual and projected, supporting decision-making processes across new investments. Furthermore, you will lead in the future development of the modelling architecture.

• Conduct analysis over a range of projects to support fund management decisions
• Develop models and analytical methods to effectively analyse performance and profitability of various investment strategies
• Monitor the performance of the fund(s) under management, investigate trends and identify areas requiring further analysis
• Analyse returns, both actual and projected, to support the decision-making process across new investments
• Contribute to analysis of existing positions, including stress-testing & sensitivity analysis for existing assets under management
• Respond to specific queries/answering questions, explaining outputs to internal stakeholders
• Lead in the future development of the modelling architecture, including assessment & implementation of business intelligence tools

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Finance Analyst position brings a strong academic background within a quantitative discipline such as Business, Economics, Accounting or STEM fields. You possess advanced knowledge in Financial Modelling along with a sound understanding of accounting and finance concepts. Your attention to detail is impeccable, enabling you to consolidate and interpret complex information from multiple sources.

• Newly ACA/ICAS Qualified
• Strong academic background within a quantitative discipline such as Business, Economics, Accounting or STEM fields
• Advanced knowledge in Financial Modelling
• Sound understanding of accounting and finance concepts
• Strong MS Office Excel skills
• A high degree of attention to detail with the ability to consolidate and interpret complex information from multiple sources
