As a Service Engineer operating from Livingston with travel throughout Scotland, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our services within these regions. 

Utilising your technical expertise, you’ll provide advice and hands on support to customers by calibrating, testing, repairing, maintaining, supplying, and installing weighing equipment and processes to help them meet their regulatory and operational goals.  Personable, approachable, and meticulous, you’ll have a knack for understanding problems to find solutions quickly, communicating concisely, and thrive on collaborating with all stakeholders to deliver first-class customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Calibrate, test, repair, maintain, supply and install weighing equipment in lab and industrial environments.
  • Prepare and complete calibration documentation and job-related administration including certificates and worksheets.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to help customers achieve their weighing objectives and prevent avoidable issues.
  • Engage with customers to understand their weighing goals and advise on best-fit solutions.
  • Adhere with the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) to safeguard the quality, consistency, and reliability of our services.
  • Care and manual handling of weights and weighing equipment.
  • Proactively communicate timely details of appointments and related orders with customers to support customer satisfaction.
  • Work with Engineering, Customer Services and the Quality team members and external suppliers to deliver at pace, implement best practices and/ or resolutions for customers.
  • Contribute to initiatives to drive continuous service improvement by reviewing processes and engaging customers in feedback.
  • Participate in on-going training to enhance your technical skills and our service to customers.
  • Perform additional duties that may be requested by managers.

KEY ATTRIBUTES

Essential

  • Engineering, electrical, electro-mechanical background.
  • Experience of working within an ISO 9001 quality-driven business.
  • Track record of providing high standards of front-line customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Self-motivated to work on own and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in English, math and IT.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Interest in advancing a career within Metrology and other related measurement disciplines.
  • An understanding of weighing processes, in particular conformance with ISO 17025 calibration standards is an advantage.
