Field Service Engineer (Electrical / Mechanical)
Company based in Skeffington – in this role, you will be required to travel to Kent, London and the surrounding areas

  • Starting salary of £33,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
  • Overtime, Commission, Benefits
  • Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Some travel/overnight stays required – costs covered by AMS

The role:

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be supporting our skilled and experienced staff with the maintenance, service and repair of woodwork machinery.  A varied role, you will be working as part of the Field Team travelling to customer sites around the Midlands and occasionally further afield.

The role will require occasional overnight stays – all travel costs will be covered by AMS.

  • Diagnosing breakdown problems and faults
  • Repairing, Installing and servicing specialist machinery
  • Fitting new parts and ensuring equipment is working correctly, dealing with preventative maintenance.
  • Dealing with emergency call outs, unplanned problems and repairs
  • Liaison with Service dept at HQ
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of workmanship and safety
  • Fill out any required paperwork and ensure this is passed to the relevant person
  • When required, help support our workshop engineers based at HQ.


Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Qualified and proven experience as a Field Service Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Electrical Mechanical Engineer with Electrical / Mechanical experience.
  • Full UK driving licence 
  • Electronic fault finding to a competent level
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to problem-solve
  • Ideally based – Midlands
