Our client is a London based IP and software company, that are dedicated to improving data compression by building a vast portfolio of innovative technologies based on the game-changing use of AI and parallel processing for data, video, imaging, and point cloud compression, with applications across several verticals. This is achieved through deep-science R&D (300+ international patents) and the development of products that test, prove, and continuously enhance the technology portfolio.

They have contributed part of its IP to drive standardisation of two codec formats, MPEG-5 Part 2 (LCEVC (Low Complexity Enhancement Video Coding)), a low-complexity enhancement video codec, and SMPTE VC-6 (ST-2117), a high-performance AI-based video and imaging codec.

They are looking for a Field Application Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to join their team.

Main Duties of the Role

  • Own the process of capturing all technical requirements for a deployment of our LCEVC encoding and decoding SDKs.
  • Capture all technical customer communication accurately for continuity and reference.
  • Assist with proposals
  • Support the sales engineering team with the technical qualification of sales opportunities and technical feasibility analysis
  • Own technical interactions
  • Participate in client project planning sessions to support our integration engineers with technical architecture, design and project scheduling.
  • Be able where required to evaluate third-party application code and assist customers in debugging issues
  • Become the technical point of contact for customers to resolve critical issues as a support engineer throughout the deployment project and after completion.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of all projects

Your Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years in a similar position,ideally for a technology company selling or supporting Video Encoding/IPTV/OTT solutions
  • A degree in either Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
  • Knowledge of C++, Java or Javascript
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
