Shift Pattern: Wednesday Only + Adhoc/Sickness/Holiday cover
Wednesday 22:00pm - 16:00pm

Location: Waterlooville

Due to some of the tasks and personal care included within this role, this job is open to female applicants only.

We cannot provide sponsorshipand we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based in the Southampton/Portsmouth area.

Requirements: 
  • MUST have worked as a carer previously in the UK (Preferably atleast 6 months experience)
  • Experience working with brain injuries would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience taking patients out into the community
  • Full UK drivers license + is MANDATORY to be considered for this role, as you are required to drive the clients automatic vehicle.
This role will be supporting an individual with a brain injury and concurrent health complications following a road traffic accident.

At Team Brain Injury, we support adults and young people who have needs attributed to Brain/Spinal injuries and or Mental Health conditions with associated complex needs.

Our support workers cover all manners of support for others – from companionship and days out, to personal care and housekeeping.

You’ll receive fully paid, on the job training and you’ll have the opportunity to build your skills whilst cultivating a trusted relationship with the person you support.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You’ll need to:
  • Be caring and approachable
  • Hold a Full UK drivers license & have your own vehicle
  • Have experience/Confidence with the following: Hoists, Manual handling, PEG feeding, Cough Assist Machine & Oral Suction
  • Be patient and welcoming
  • Be Helpful, reliable & professional
  • Bonus points if you like pets!  The client has two very friendly dogs
  • A positive outlook
  • Able to help with personal care
  • Able to prepare meals
  • Potentially administer medication and Ideally hold an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care or related topic, or be willing to study towards this
