Our client, a fantastic law firm in Dorset, is well known in the area for providing quality legal advice throughout the area.

The Legal Support department is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support the Matrimonial Team.  The ideal candidate will have a Family Law background and excellent Paralegal or Legal Assistant skills.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Attending meetings with the Head of Department and note-taking
  • Attending Court hearings with counsel as a notetaker
  • Attending client meetings and conferences with counsel as a notetaker
  • Contacting clients, the Court, opponents and other professionals
  • Prepare various applications, including divorce applications and Forms A on the portal and paper applications; C100 Applications (Children Act), Form FL401 (Family Law Act), C2 Applications (interim applications within Children Act Applications), D11 Applications (interim applications within Financial Remedy proceedings)
  • Prepare Court Bundles
  • Drafting briefs to counsel
  • Prepare documentation in Financial Remedy proceedings: Forms E and enclosures, questionnaires, replies to questionnaire, updating financial disclosure and the like
  • Prepare witness statements and exhibits
  • Diarise Court Orders and directions
  • Assist with monthly billing
  • Assisting with the general running of files
