Family Paralegal

£18,000 – £21,000

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced family paralegal to join a busy legal team at the Allerton office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting senior fee earners with predominantly Care work.

Responsibilities include the initiation and maintenance of case files, day-to-day assistance for the team, and keeping clients informed about the progress of their cases. The role involves communication with courts, experts, and agencies, as well as managing appointments, handling calls, and preparing bundles of documents for hearings.

The successful candidate will interact with clients both in person and remotely, providing general legal and administrative support. Additionally, they will be responsible for diary management, attending court to assist counsel and/or clients, and conducting legal aid assessments and applications.

The right candidate for this position is a self-starter with a proactive approach, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively within a vibrant team. They should be flexible, capable of accommodating client or team needs, and possess strong time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads.

Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months of experience in a family law team and be proficient in Case Management Systems and Laserforms. Familiarity with the Legal Aid Agency Portal (CCMS) is essential, and experience with Excel spreadsheets is desirable.
