Mploy are seeking a Factory Supervisor with timber or wood working experience to work for a family owned independent business in South Petherton.  

Supervising a team of 10, you will oversee and co-ordinate the production team to ensure the efficient, accurate, timely and safe production of their products as per the requirements of their ERP system.

You’ll organise the team on a daily basis, holding daily team meetings, and be the main point of contact with the production planner. You will monitor daily production to keep the team on target, and be willing and able to assist the team where needed with their duties.

In terms of housekeeping you’ll ensure work stations are tidy & clean, all waste is cleared away correctly, and offcuts are regularly removed, as well as making sure daily machine checks are carried out and maintenance schedules adhered to.

We’re seeking candidates who have relevant previous experience as a factory supervisor or equivalent, with a good understanding of continuous improvement methods. The role really needs someone who has previous experience of machining timber or working in a sawmill to be able to understand the technical aspects of the production team, in order to supervise the team effectively. Perhaps you are an experience operator looking for a step up? Certainly this would be considered.
