Export Road Freight Planner

Our client, providers of freight forwarding services, are currently looking for an experienced Road Freight Export Clerk  to join their team in Basildon on a full time, permanent basis.

As  Road Freight Export Clerk, you'll be responsible for managing all export bookings, ensuring client's needs and expectations are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.  Working alongside the export operations manager you'll plan trailers for maximum efficiency and profit and assist in developing the export department.

Road Freight Export Clerk duties include:

• Liaising with the warehouse and supervising the trailer loading and space management
• Booking and handling of general export bookings and enquiries
• Managing collections/overseas deliveries and customs documents
• Invoicing for export department in a timely manner
• Negotiating with suppliers for competitive prices
• Ensuring all costs are accurately logged into the jobs in Navitas
• Daily management of the export daily profit spreadsheet.
• Creating jobs and manifests in Navitas
• Liaising with overseas agents and accounts department with any sales/cost queries
• Training of new staff as and when required

We are keen to speak to people who have experience, as an Road Freight Export Clerk or Transport Planner.  First class customer service and communication skills also go without saying, as does confident negotiation.  A strong understanding of transport legislation is vital.
